Taylor Swift truly exceeded everybody’s expectations about her performance in ‘Saturday Night Live’-not only did performed her sweet tunes-she also gave the men around her a piece of her heart.

Now that the MTV Movie Awards is about to take place during the weekend, expect a lot of surprises coming not just from the stars and production numbers, but from its host, SNL Star Andy Samberg.
Neil Patrick Harris, who stars on the hit show “How I Met Your Mother”, finally became the host of Saturday Night Live last night.
After Tina Fey came back and reprised her role as Sarah Palin on SNL during the election season last year, SNL was having trouble getting back to their old, funny non-politics skits. With Neil Patrick Harris opening up the 2009 with a bang, SNL made the right choice for a host, and after 20 years in Hollywood… it’s about time!
Harris’ opening monologue was “legendary”, roasting his fellow former child star, Fred Savage as he told the viewers that he was supposed to host SNL back when he was a kid, but SNL chose Savage instead. The skit where Harris played a grinding fitness guru was hilarious, followed by “Saving Broadway” where Harris played Mark of “Rent”, Taylor Swift (that night’s musical guest star) played street-smart Annie and the rest gave life to other Broadway characters.
When Harris started playing the keyboards backed up by the SNL cast playing other instruments in an orchestral arrangement of Doogie Howser’s theme song, the ending was just brilliant. If you missed Neil Patrick Harris on SNL, we’ve got pictures and videos right after the jump…
