Robert Downey Jr. Named EW’s ‘Entertainer of the Year’

Entertainment Weekly names Robert Downey Jr. as ‘Entertainer of the Year’ for 2008. Although the star has been in recent drug and court issues, Downey has regained his Hollywood status after the smash hit Iron Man.
In the EW issue on stands today, Downey says, “To tell you the truth, I haven’t fully digested what’s happened to me before, during, and after ‘Iron Man’. ‘Tropic Thunder’ seems like it happened 25 minutes ago. Time is not entirely linear. It’s all so associative. If Ben Stiller called me today and said we needed to shoot more scenes, I’d get my jacket and go. But I do know that I don’t want to waste any more time. That’s why I’m putting my nose to the grindstone. That’s why I’m cranking them out.”
After everything that Robert Downey Jr. has experienced, it still remains clear that his talent will never run out. Plus, Downey has several films lined up next year, including the sequel of Iron Man, so you it’s a well deserved recognition.
