Taylor Swift, who won the fan-voted trophy for “Favorite Country Female” at this year’s American Music Awards, performed “White Horse”, a song about heartbreak to a large audience that included the Jonas Brothers.
After a good run this year, Swift has plenty of things to thank for, but she giving a special shout-out to her fans. On the 18-year-old country singer’s MySpace page, she posted “I’m thankful that, even when it’s raining, I’ve got people to count on,” probably referring to her highly-publicized breakup with Joe Jonas.
Taylor added, “All the signings and meet and greets and concerts and faces were running through my head as I ran up the stairs to go accept an award you [fans] won for me. I’ve always wanted an American Music Award, and I feel like the luckiest girl in the world to have you out there doing these things for me.”
At the AMA Awards, Taylor accepted the trophy and ended her speech with “I’m gonna find someone someday who might actually treat me well.” Host Jimmy Kimmel referenced the split, which occurred via a 27-second phone call, in his opening monologue.
