Uncle Benji Madden Will Keep an Eye on Harlow’s Future Suitors

Harlow Madden, Nicole Richie and Joel Madden’s baby, will turn a year old on January 11, but as early as today, her uncle Benji Madden warns the potential suitors of his niece.
The 29-year-old twin brother of Joel, Benji tells People magazine, “I’m going to be keeping a close eye on her. I’ll leave the shotgun right by the door.”
Benji is happy about how Harlow’s parents have been raising her so far. Benji reveals that his brother and girlfriend Nicole’s secret us that they always put Harlow above everything else. He also said that Joel and Nicole’s instincts just amazingly came out after Harlow was born. Benji added, “Joel is such a great dad and Nicole is the best mom I’ve ever seen. Joel is all about showing up. His main concern in life is protecting and caring for his family.”

Nicole Richie and Joel Madden Bargain-Shopping after Christmas

Contrary to popular belief that celebrities don’t go budget-shopping, Nicole Richie and Joel Madden took advantage of the post-Christmas deals at different stores and made sure they’re not a minute late in end-of-the-year bargains.
The couple was seen going through their favorite retail stores as they search for some great finds at the Marc by Marc Jacobs boutique, then heading on to Decade Two and the City of Angels Optical store so Nicole can pick up a new pair of oversized shades. (We all know how Nicole loves wearing cool shades every time). From there, they visited a hat shop on Melrose Avenue and grabbed lunch on La Brea Avenue.
The last stop was at American Rag Co. and with enough bags to fill their car, Nicole and Joel headed to their car. Checkout the pictures of this young parents shopping around Beverly Hills yesterday just after the jump…

Nicole Richie Is not Working on a Music Album

Last week, rumors spread that Nicole Richie is seeking musical advice from Kelly Osbourne and Rihanna, while working on an album. This news broke out just soon after Richie’s BFF Paris Hilton was reportedly looking for music label for her second album.
Nicole Richie set the records straight at boyfriend Joel Madden’s K-DCMA shoe line launch party on Saturday, telling People magazine, “That’s not true. Although I think that Rihanna and Kelly Osbourne are very talented, that’s completely false.”
However, Richie explained that she still want to record an album eventually, but the mom of 11-month-old Harlow says, “Right now I have a lot on my plate. I’ve really been working hard – going on auditions for acting, doing design for my line, and being a mom – so that pretty much takes up my days. Right now I’m reading scripts and really trying to take my work seriously.”
Seemed like the 27-year-old Richie enjoyed her role as an ex-cheerleader in action when she guest-starred on NBC’s “Chuck”.

Aguilera seeks Nicole Richie’s Parenting Advice

Yep, you heard read that right! Christina Aguilera is turning to Nicole Richie for parenting advice.
Christina Aguilera admitted that she didn’t know Nicole Richie all that much in the past, but the two young stars has recently become friendly. At the post-AMA party Sunday, Aguilera tells Pop Tarts, “I didn’t know much about Nicole, but because our little ones are born one day apart and through mutual friends I’ve had the opportunity of getting to know her and I was blown away with how great of a mom she is. I actually ask her for advice because she has a lot of great things that she does for her little one. She’s even a little more stricter with battery operated toys and what not, she’s a great woman.”
Not only does Aguilera thinks highly of Richie, she was also quick on defending Richie’s scandalous past, saying, “She doesn’t go out so much, maybe she goes to dinners. I really appreciate people that exude a lot of talent and hard work in what they do and having a child has made her grow so much as it has made me grow. It just is inevitable that you’re going to grow when you have a little one, so anyone who’s giving anybody grief for going out and partying, they’re just trying to be negative and stir up drama and I have nothing but good things to say about Nicole. I have to say that.”
