Madonna and Guy Ritchie both broke their silence about their divorce after almost all media outlets reported the financial details of their settlement. The settlement amount, which was reported as $76 to $92 million, apparently was overexaggerated even though it came from Madonna’s rep Liz Rosenberg when she told the Associated Press.
A joint statement was released Wednesday that says, “A misleading and inaccurate statement, specifically in relation to the sums of money involved, was wrongly issued to AP this week. The financial details of the settlement will remain private, save to say that both of us are happy with our agreement.”
Why Madonna’s side suddenly retracted their statements? No one can possible know.

Madonna is paying her ex-husband Guy Ritchie between $76 and $92 million, according to the 50-year-old singer’s spokeswoman Liz Rosenberg.
Rosenberg tells Associated Press that the figure includes the value of their home in Western England and the couple’s London pub, “The Punchbowl”. “I’d assume it’s one of the largest payouts ever in a divorce settlement,” Rosenberg adds to the AP.
Although the financial details have been settled, the custodial arrangements for their children has yet to be completed.
Madonna filed for divorce citing “unreasonable behavior” and was granted a quick divorce on November 21 at the High Court of London. This financial deal will probably outrank the highly-publicized $60 million that Sir Paul McCartney paid his ex-wife Heather Mills. The Madonna-Ritchie divorce will rank fourth on the list of highest divorce payouts, just after Neil Diamond and Michael Jordan’s $150 million payout and Steven Spielberg’s $100 million divorce settlement.
…and I thought Guy Ritchie didn’t want a cent from Madonna. Lucky guy.

You’d think it was planned, but Madonna and A-Rod came to Mexico last weekend separately and with different reasons: the 50-year-old singer was in town to perform as part of her “Sticky & Sweet” tour, while 33-year-old Alex Rodriguez was invited to inaugurate the sports center by Mexico’s richest man, Carlos Slim. A-rod then taught a bunch of kids for two hours on the new sports complex.
Although the two were exactly in the same country during the weekend, no confirmation has been made from both A-rod and Madonna’s side that the two met up. For the last weeks, Madonna and A-rod has made headlines as the Yankee star has been seen at Madonna’s Miami Concert and reportedly spent Thanksgiving after A-Rod has fulfilled his family obligations – all of which happened just a few days after the finalization of Madonna and Guy Ritchie’s divorce. A-Rod and his wife divorced in September, months after he made tabloid headlines for a rumored, but denied, affair with Madonna.
The Yankee third baseman had only a few words to say when asked what he thought about being in the same city at the same time as his rumored girl, saying “it was very good”. A-Rod, however, had more to say about teaching kids how to bat, saying in Spanish, “It’s a pleasure to talk about baseball, to talk about the importance of keeping children off the streets, out of drugs and out of all the bad things that there are in this life.”

Madonna and director Guy Ritchie has reached a divorce settlement to be presented in the court tomorrow.
Today, the case was heard before a judge in the High Court’s Family Division. Both Madonna and Richie attended the court. According to Daily Telegraph, Ritchie will not accept a cent of Madonna’s money, but insisted on sharing custody of their two sons, David (3) and Rocco (8), splitting their time between London and New York.
Madonna with an asset of $450 million and Ritchie with only $30 million announced their separation last month. The two has been married for 8 years. According to some reports, the reason for the split was Madonna’s plans to adopt another child and spend more time in New York. But other reports are saying that Madonna may be interested in a certain Yankee player.
I guess this set-up won’t be too hard on their kids. They’ve been going back and forth London and New York for years and the kids are used to being accompanied by only one parent every time. Check out the family’s pictures throughout the years…

Guy Richie’s divorce with Madonna has been a messy ordeal since the couple announced their split. For the last couple of weeks, Guy has been seen hanging out at his own bar, the Punchbowl, apparently intoxicated every time photographers try to snap images of the soon-to-be ex-Mr. Madonna.
Even (deranged) fans of the couple are finding hard to accept the divorce. Just a few days back after the 80th birthday celebration of Guy’s dad, Richie encountered one of Madonna’s fans, who appeared to be drunk or just plain crazy as he started shouting about being a die-hard fan of Madge and continued ranting about the couple’s divorce. Of course, the police arrived soon and arrested the lunatic Madonna fan.
Another crazy 16-year-old fan of Madonna snuck into the set of Sherlock Holmes with a knife screaming at the director “I love Madonna”, as though the singer would love him back if he actually killed Guy Richie.
Meanwhile, Guy’s custody battle with Madonna is still on the works as Richie hires a new lawyer to represent him, who is a top lawyer in divorce cases. The director is currently working on his upcoming film, Sherlock Holmes in London, while his kids are with ex-wife Madge in New York. However, Madonna can’t take their son Rocco (8) and jointly adopted son David (3) to live with her in the U.S. permanently until the English court grants her custody or Richie permits his kids to live with Madonna.
Aside from possibly losing her kids to Richie, Madonna is also at risk of losing half of her estimated £300 million assets. Unfortunately for Richie who’s being threatened with deranged Madonna fans, if he loses the custody case, he’ll also be losing his kids.
