Robert Pattinson will reportedly play an astronaut in the upcoming Claire Denis’ sci-fi film set ‘beyond the solar system in a future that seems like the present.’
The “Twilight” star has signed up for the lead role in the yet-titled Claire Denis project, which will mark her English-language directorial debut.
The movie is currently in the early stages of development, with Robert Pattinson the only actor attached to the film. Denis and her usual writing partner Jean-Pol Fargeau have written the script alongside acclaimed novelist Zadie Smith and Nick Laird.
No director has been named yet, but filming is pegged later this year or early 2016 in Cologne, Germany with an expected release date sometime in 2017.
Robert Pattinson will next be seen in the drama flick “Life” and in Werner Herzog’s “Queen of the Desert.” He is currently busy filming James Gray’s “The Lost City of Z”.
