Anne Hathaway has just signed on to star in an upcoming sci-film about a meteor shower that turns men to blood-thirsty aliens.
The “Interstellar” actress is not only going to star in the comedy/sci-fi film “The Shower,” but she will also serve as producer.
The screenplay of “The Shower,” written by Jac Schaeffer, was among the 2014 Black List. It focuses on a baby shower that turns into a meteor shower that turns men into blood-thirsty aliens. The women must fend off the aliens to save the world.
The Hollywood Reporter states that the project is a mix of “This Is the End,” “Attack the Block,” and “Bridesmaids”.
Schaeffer said of Anne Hathaway: “Anne is the perfect actor to anchor a story that is ultimately about female friendship, with a lot of ass-kicking along the way.”
For her part, Anne said: “Jac [Schaeffer] has written an awesome sci-fi comedy centered around funny, fully dimensional female characters. I feel so lucky to be a part of the team that will bring her enormously talented and fresh voice to the big screen.”
No director or other cast members has been announced yet.
