‘Jackass star Steve-O (real name Stephen Glover) could be facing up to a year and a half in jail and other criminal charges for a dangerous SeaWorld protest.

The city of Los Angeles will also seek financial restitution for the cost of the police and firefighters dispatched to the construction site where Steve-O did his stunt, and an additional $1,500 fine.

Steve-O was charged on Monday, August 24 with creating a false emergency, use of unregistered fireworks, storing fireworks without a permit, possession of fireworks without a permit, and trespassing. He is facing a sentence of up to a year and a half in jail and a fine of $1,500.

The incident happened when Steve-O climbed a 100-foot crane in Hollywood and inflated a killer whale with the words “SeaWorld Sucks” written across it when he reached the top. He stayed at the top of the crane until the sun set and, at one point, lit fireworks. A large cushion was laid down below by the firefighters should he fall.
