Jimmy Fallon had to cancel taping of his show “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” earlier today because of an injury that ended him in a hospital needing emergency surgery.
The 40-year-old host took to Twitter updating his fans about the injury, sharing a photo taken from his hospital bed of his left hand heavily bandaged with a foam brace around his wrist.

Jimmy Fallon then explained how he ended up in hospital needing emergency injury. He said: “Tripped and caught my fall (good thing)! Ring caught on side of table almost ripped my finger off (bad thing). #drugged #blessed.” He then added: “I’m doing well and thanks for good wishes everyone.”
NBC announced via Twitter earlier today that Friday’s taping of “Tonight Show”, which was supposed to feature Benicio del Toro, Taylor Kitsch, and Penn & Teller as guests, was canceled due to Jimmy’s injury. Jimmy’s rep later confirmed that the comedian “required to have minor surgery after injuring his hand at his Manhattan apartment this morning. He is expected to make a full recovery.”
