National Geographic is launching its first-ever talk show “Star Talk” and has tapped Neil deGrasse Tyson as host.
‘Star Talk’ is geared at inviting celebrities, comedians, and scientists to discuss the latest developments in the universe in hopes of bridging the gap between pop culture and science.
After fronting National Geographic’s “Cosmos” in 2014, astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson will now be hosting the network’s late-night show based on his own popular podcast of the same name, “Star Talk.”
Tyson tweeted recently: “Wouldn’t it be cool if Zombies & Vampires became human if we bit them first? Somebody needs to test that hypothesis.” He also added: “’Cosmos’ allowed us to share the awesome power of the universe with a global audience in ways that we never thought possible. To be able to continue to spread wonder and excitement through Star Talk, which is a true passion project for me, is beyond exciting. And National Geographic Channel is the perfect home as we continue to explore the universe.”
Star Talk premieres in April.
