Iggy Azalea served up some subtle revenge on Eminem for including her on his song in a bad way, as she name-dropped the rapper while picking up her first music award ever for Best Rap/Hip-Hop Album at the AMAs Sunday.
When Iggy Azalea accepted her award, she thanked mentor, T.I. and shared how big it was for her that her first major music award be for hip-hop.
The Australian rapper explained: “This award is the first award I’ve ever won in my entire life, and means so much to me that it is for best hip-hop, because that’s what inspired me to move to American and pursue my dreams. It’s what helped me when I was a teenager to escape and to get through my life and to better times.”
Eminem name-dropped Azalea on his song “Vegas,” threatening to rape her in the lyrics. For a subtle revenge, Iggy said during her speech: “It means so much that I can stand here against Eminem and Drake and come out with this.
Azalea also won the Favorite Rap/Hip-Hop Artist.
