Matt Damon is reportedly in talks to reprise his role as Jason Bourne in the popular “Bourne Identity” franchise.
Deadline.com reports that Universal Pictures is hoping to reunite the actor with Paul Greengrass, who directed 2004’s “The Bourne Supremacy” and 2007’s “The Bourne Ultimatum.”
Matt Damon left the series after making three films. Jeremy Renner took over as Aaron Cross in the fourth film, 2013’s “The Bourne Legacy.”
Damon hinted earlier this year that he was open to the idea of returning to the role if Greengrass was on board. The director had revealed that he couldn’t come up with a creative storyline for the Jason Bourne character anymore.
If Damon does sign up, Universal is planning to begin production in 2016, followed by another spin-off with Renner.
