Simon Cowell is producing the first Betty Boop feature-length film.
The iconic, sexy character was last seen in a cameo during the 1988 film “Who Framed Roger Rabbit.” Now, Simon Cowell and his Syco Entertainment are set to work on the first Betty Boop movie to star the voluptuous cartoon herself.
Syco Entertainment has reportedly teamed up with Animal Logic Entertainment and Fleischer Studios to bring the 1930’s cartoon to the big screen. A press release from the production company described the project as “a music-driven hybrid animated comedy.”
Simon Cowell said in a press release while announcing the film: “Betty is an icon, and one of the biggest stars in the world—I’m thrilled to be working with her. Betty, I’ve worked with some serious divas but I think you could be the biggest of them all!”
A “Betty” chimed in, saying: “I’m so excited to return to the big screen—and I only work with the best! Let’s have some fun, Simon. Boop-Oop-a-Doop!”
