Nickelodeon has cancelled its hit show Sam & Cat after only one season.
The comedy, which stars Ariana Grande and Jennette McCurdy, had been faced with rumors that the co-stars had conflict on the show.
In March, McCurdy didn’t attend 2014 Kids’ Choice Awards because of her issues with Nickelodeon. Although she didn’t speak about her displeasure about the network, insiders claimed that Jenette wasn’t happy about receiving a lower pay compared to her co-stared. Grande later confirmed that they were not treated unequally and signed the equal contract.
The children’s network said in a statement, “Nickelodeon will not be producing more episodes of Sam & Cat. We are very proud of the show and its very talented cast and we wish them the best.”
On July 13th, Grande took to her Twitter to announce the news, adding: “I know a lot of people will think this is a lot for some ‘dumb’ kids show character…. but to me she is actually a lot smarter, stronger and braver than all the rest of us.”
