Stacey Dash is airing her comment about Kanye West’s rant where he compares paparazzi intrusion to rape.
The comment occurred during Kanye West’s gig at the Wireless Festival in London. He complained about paparazzi who take photos of his family and compared it to rape.
The “Outnumbered” talk show regular, who ironically appeared on West’s 2004 music video for “All Falls Down,” said of the rapper’s rant: “For Kanye to say rape, maybe he needs to spend some time on Rikers Island… Go to Rikers for a little while and then he’ll know what rape is.” She then added: “I don’t get celebrities not understanding that the paparazzi are doing their job.”
Kanye West isn’t the first one to compare paparazzi treatment to rape. Charlize Theron said in May that she doesn’t ready anything about her online, explaining: “
I don’t do that. So that’s my saving grace. I think it’s when you start living in that world and doing that that you start… I guess feeling raped.” Kristen Stewart also told British Elle in 2010: “I feel like I’m looking at someone being raped. A lot of the time I can’t handle it. I never expected that this would be my life.”
