Melanie Griffith files for divorce from Antonio Banderas after 18 years of marriage.
In the documents, filed by Laura Wasser, Griffith cited irreconcilable differences, and asked for child support and sole physical and joint legal custody of their only child Stella, who turns 18 in September. Griffith is also asking for spousal support.
In a statement sent from their rep, the couple says, “We have thoughtfully and consensually decided to finalize our almost 20 years marriage in a loving and friendly manner honoring and respecting each other, our family and friends and the beautiful time we have spent together.”
The legal docs do not list the date of separation, but Melanie Griffith and Antonio Banderas has faced split rumors throughout the years.
Griffith had previously married and divorced actor Don Johnson twice. She was also married to actor Steven Bauer. Meanwhile, the 53-year-old Banderas was married to Ana Leza in 1987 until 1995 when Melanie Griffith and Antonio Banderas met on the set of “Two Much” and began a relationship.
