Lily Allen reveals she declined ‘Game of Thrones’ role

Lily Allen revealed that she had a chance of an acting gig on Game of Thrones, but declined because the part involved “too much incest.”

The pop star said she was offered to play princess Yara Greyjoy alongside her brother Alfie on HBO’s “Game of Thrones,” but declined after learning more about her bloody-minded character.

Lily Allen tells online fans on a Reddit Ask Me Anything said: “They asked me if I’d be interested in playing Theon’s sister. I felt uncomfortable because I would have had to go on a horse and he would have touched me up and shit. Once they told me what was entailed, I said no thanks.”

Lily and Alfie Allen both acted, with tiny roles, in the 1998 movie Elizabeth. Alfie was featured as protagonist in a song on Allen’s debut, but got his big break in 2011 when he was cast as GoT’s Theon Greyjoy.

Despite turning down the part, Allen said she’d still be “open to” appearing on Game of Thrones, but says she would prefer “a musical cameo like Sigur Rós.”
