Sir Patrick Stewart has been cast in a new TV comedy series from Family Guy creator Seth Macfarlane.
The “Star Trek” star has landed the role of opinionated British newsman Walter Blunt on “Blunt Talk.” It will feature Blunt’s attempts to conquer American cable news.
Patrick Stewart has collaborated on a couple of Seth Macfarlane’s projects. The British actor lent his voice to characters on “Family Guy” and on the hit animated series “American Dad” playing the highly-strung CIA (Central Intelligence Agency) Deputy Director Avery Bullock.
Stewart said of his new gig: “This new character, Walter Blunt, is not at all like Avery, thank God, because this is live action and I am a Knight of the Realm. Blunt is, however, much smarter than Avery and has his own TV show, which has to be better than being Deputy Director of the CIA.”
“Blunt Talk” is slated to premiere on America’s Starz network in 2015.
