Fox announced that it has not decided to pick up the sci-fi series “Almost Human” from J.J. Abrams for a second season.
Fox ordered a 13-episode first season from executive producer J.J. Abrams with the finale that aired in early March, but now the network has confirmed it won’t be getting a season 2.
The move is pretty surprising since Fox heavily promoted the drama, boasting the show’s stars – “Star Trek” actor Karl Urban and Michael Ealy. “Almost Human” is set 35 years in the future. Karl plays a police officer who works with human-like androids like his partner Michael Ealy (Dorian).
“Almost Human” had an impressive start with 9.2 million viewers (3.1 rating in the adults 18-49 demo) during its premiere on November 17, but the numbers dropped to 6.8 million viewers (with a 2.3 rating) when it switched to the Monday slot, and 5.63 million for the finale (with 1.5 rating).
