Much like how Jodie Foster “came out” publicly last year, the veteran Oscar-winning actress married artist girlfriend Alexandra Hedison quietly over the weekend.
Foster’s publicist Jennifer Allen confirmed the news Wednesday, but offered no other details.
This marks the first marriage for Jodie Foster, who came out publicly in a heartfelt speech at the 2013 Golden Globe Awards while accepting her lifetime achievement award. At that time of her announcement, Jodie revealed she was single. She also said: “I hope that you’re not disappointed that there won’t be a big coming-out speech tonight, because I already did my coming-out about a thousand years ago back in the Stone Age.”
During her speech, Foster also acknowledged her longtime partner Cydney Bernard, with whom she has two sons. They ended their 20-year relationship in 2008.
E!, which was the first to report that Foster tied the knot with 44-year-old photographer Hedison, reported that the couple has been dating since last summer. Hedison was previously linked to Ellen DeGeneres. She also works as an actress with TV credits including “Nash Bridges” and “The L Word.”
