It seems like FOX has utmost trust in “Family Guy” creator Seth MacFarlane. Weeks after ordering a full season of his sitcom “Dads,” the network also ordered his new animated comedy called “Bordertown.”
Writers MacFarlane and Mark Hentemann will also be executive producers and are joined by Family Guy’s Alex Carter and American Dad’s Dan Vebber as co-producers.
“Bordertown,” which has been green-lit for 13 episodes so far, is reportedly set on a fictional Texas town in the USA’s Mexican border. It revolves around patriotic American Bud Buckwalk and Latino neighbour Etnesto Gonzales. Bud, a married father of three, is a border patrol agent who feels threatened by immigrants, while Etnesto is proud to be integrating into American life. The show centers on the relationships between the two families.
Seth’s “Family Guy” has been nominated for 13 Emmy Awards with four wins. MacFarlane also won the Outstanding Voiceover Performance for his role as baby Stewie.
“Bordertown” is set to debut next year.
