Aside from the superheroes of “The Avengers” and Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury who are surely going to return for ‘The Avengers: Age of Ultron’, supporting characters like S.H.I.E.L.D. agents’ fate on the next installment is only slowly being confirmed.
With Clark Gregg landing his own TV show with ABC’s “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,” it remains to be seen if he will be back for the next film. But Cobie Smulders has spoken to ComingSoon’s Calgary Herald about her character Maria Hill and if the Deputy Director of S.H.I.E.L.D. will be joining the rest of the bunch.
Cobie explained: “I think I’m in ‘Avengers 2,’ but it is very top secret. I hope I’m in Avengers 2. I didn’t get my invitation yet. Well, actually, they know I’m in it but they don’t know to what degree I’m in it. I am really excited to read the script because they are introducing Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch into the Avengers universe and the bad guy is going to be very interesting.”
Smulders’ Maria Hill will be making an appearance in Captain America: The Winter Soldier next April, before the Avengers sequel. Her character also made a one-time appearance on the TV show spin-off “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” during its premiere episode.
