Actress Michelle Pfeiffer may be a high-profile artist these days, but back during the start of her career, she became a member of a group she calls a cult.
Pfeiffer, now 55, says that she met the group in Los Angeles back during the ‘80s way before she was famous. The group believed in Breatharianism, a lifestyle that works on the ability to live without food and water.
“They were very controlling,” she recalls about the group. “They worked with weights and put people on diets. Their thing was vegetarianism. I wasn’t living with them but I was there a lot and they were always telling me I needed to come more. I had to pay for all the time I was there, so it was financially draining,”
The actress was saved by her then husband Peter Horton, who she split with in 1988.
