The sci-fi flick “Ender’s Game” was at the top of the weekend box office, raking in over $28 million in its opening weekend. In this race the said film was able to push “Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa” into second place.
“Ender’s Game” is based on the novel of the same name by Orson Scott Card, and stars Harrison Ford and Asa Butterfield.
Meanwhile, Paramount’s candid-camera comedy that features Johnny Knoxville dressed as an old man garnered another $20.5 million in its second week, making the domestic total reach over $62 million.
“Thor: The Dark World,” on the other hand brought home over $109.4 million in its first international run. The second “Thor” franchise is set to open domestically next week.
