NBC has ordered a half-hour pilot that stars Meg Ryan.
The Hollywood Reporter and Entertainment Weekly both confirmed the news, which reveals the one-time romantic comedy film star will not only lead the sitcom, she’s also serving as the show’s executive producer.
The official logline reads: “A sunny, devoted and desperately non-confrontational single mom (Meg Ryan) decides to return to her New York publishing house where she was once a brilliant editor to find that she now works for Brenda, her neurotic 30 year old boss who was once her former intern. Now Rose must find a way to keep her boss, her teenage kids, her almost ex-husband and her meddlesome mother in law all happy, which results in her overcomplicating every situation and somehow always making it worse.”
Others who have signed on to work on the sitcom include “Miss Congeniality” writer Marc Lawrence, (who wrote the script and will co-executive produce with Ryan and Ryan’s manager Jane Berliner).
