Award-winning Broadway star Patina Miller has signed on to play Commander Paylor in ‘Hunger Games: Mockingjay 1 & 2.’
The news comes a few days after announcing the addition of Julianne Moore in the final two films of the Hunger Games series.
Patina Miller, who just won a best-actress Tony Award for playing The Leading Player in Pippin, will play Commander Paylor (one of District 8 rebel leaders) in the film adaptation of the popular book series. In the books, she is described as having “an authoritative tone in her voice.”
Miller excitedly tweeted out the news today, saying: “so its official guys!!! i will be playing Commander Paylor in @TheHungerGames: Mockingjay 1&2!! So incredibly grateful and so excited!”
‘Hunger Games: Mockingjay 1 & 2’ won’t be in theaters for a year or two, so we won’t be able to see Moore and Miller’s performances yet. But “Hunger Games: Catching Fire” is due out this November 22.
