MTV is rumored to give Jersey Shore another run, as the next season of Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi and Jennifer “JWoww” Farley’s spinoff show is reportedly going to be filmed in the area.
Residents in the neighborhood have mixed reactions of the news that the Jersey Shore crew would be back, which is probably why MTV representatives would not directly confirm that the show would be filming in two shore towns (Pelican Island section of Berkeley and in Seaside Heights).
MTV spokesman Michael Fabiani said Wednesday that MTV does not comment on its productions. However, officials from both municipalities revealed the news.
Seaside Heights Business Administrator John A. Camera confirmed Wednesday that a $25 film permit fee was paid by the show’s producers 495 Productions. He claimed the fee was for a “pretty light filming schedule at that address. It seems like it is a very small production and we are not looking at much need for security at this point.”
The Berkeley home that will be used for the show is owned by Mike Loundy, who also rented out his Seaside Heights property for years of “Jersey Shore” episodes. Meanwhile, the Seaside Heights home is owned by Michael Gracien, the borough’s public affairs officer.
