“The Good Wife” star Julianna Margulies is going to trial, after a judge has ruled there’s enough evidence given by her former managers that the actress broke ties with her management without giving their share of commissions.
D/F Management are asking $420,000 in back compensation and future earnings after they helped Margulies land a spokesperson deal for L’Oreal and a lead role on “The Good Wife,” which is back for season 5 in September.
Margulies reportedly retained D/F in 2009 but terminated the relationship in April 2011. She tried to fight the lawsuit and filed a cross-complaint for breach of contract, but a judge denied her motion Tuesday and now will have to go to trial set for October 9.
An attorney for D/F Matthew Rosengart said: “We are pleased but not surprised by the judge’s well reasoned decision rejecting Miss Margulies’ motion. My clients are disappointed that she reneged on her agreement and then filed a meritless motion. We look forward to the trial in October.”
