Rihanna has broken Justin Bieber’s record for most-viewed artist on YouTube.com.
The 25-year-old Barbados-born singer has beat Justin Bieber’s record on the video-sharing channel VEVO by about two million views in the early hours of Tuesday, June 18, 2013.
Bieber still ranks higher than Internet star/ South Korean rapper Psy, who has over 3.1 billion views due to his uber-catchy 2012 hit single Gangnam Style. After Rihanna and Bieber, Eminem (2.4 billion), Lady Gaga (2.25 billion) and Shakira (2 billion) make the top 5.
The news comes as Rihanna is also on the headlines for allegedly hitting a fan with a microphone during one of her performances.
Rihanna’s channel, which has existed since May 2009, has 3,784,030,789 views in comparison to Bieber’s official channel (made September 2009) with 3,782,989,210 views. Rihanna also has 8.7 million subscribers to Bieber’s 4.9 million.
Rihanna’s videos for “Only Girl (In The World),” “We Found Love,” and “Man Down” helped the singer attract millions of viewers.
