Sandra Bullock is in early negotiations about joining the remake of Annie.
If talks go on smoothly, the Oscar winner would play Miss Hannigan, the character played by Carol Burnett in the 1982 film. According to The Wrap, Bullock reportedly initially passed on the role, but she is back to negotiating for Sony Pictures’ planned reboot of the classic story.
Other stars who have signed on to the film include “Beasts of the Southern Wild” star Quvenzhane Wallis as the adorable orphan Annie and Jamie Foxx as a modern-day Daddy Warbucks (to be named Benjamin Stacks on the upcoming reboot).
The movie will be directed by Easy A’s Will Gluck. It is being produced by Will Smith, Jada Pinkett-Smith and Jay-Z, among others. Production on the film is slated to start this fall with a release planned for the 2014 holiday season.
