Ringo Starr is getting busy with his books. Not only is he set to release a children’s picture book that brings his old Beatles hit Octopus’s Garden to the pages, Starr will also be publishing a photobook called “Photograph.”
Simon and Schuster announced Tuesday that it would publish the former Beatle’s book, which was inspired by the tune Starr wrote 45 years ago. The hardback edition will be accompanied by a CD that includes a previously unheard track by Starr and a reading of the story.
With illustrations done by ‘Aliens Love Pants’ illustrator Ben Cort, the children’s story book revolves around a sea adventure where Peter Sellers and the captain converse about octopuses. The children’s book will be available on October 24 in the UK and January 2014 in the US.
If you can’t wait for the children’s book though, you can check out Ringo Starr’s other project – the new book called “Photograph” that features never-before-seen photos of the Beatles taken by Starr himself. The title of Starr’s latest book comes from his 1973 single of the same name.
Genesis Publications and Starr announced Wednesday that the e-book of “Photograph” is set to be published June 12 just in time for the upcoming Grammy Museum exhibit “Ringo: Peace & Love.” Ringgo says images from this book “portray four lads from Liverpool, trying to live normal lives amidst the frenzy that surrounded them.” A limited-edition hand-bound of the book, signed by Starr, will be available in December.
