Academy Award-winning actor and director Ben Affleck was one of six honorary doctorate degree recipients from Brown University.
The actor received the doctorate degree from the Ivy League school during the commencement exercises on Sunday. Ben Affleck, who directed, produced and starred in “Argo” that won this year’s Oscar for Best Picture, was present to receive his doctor of fine arts degree.
Aside from Affleck, other artists, writers, scientists and educators to receive the honorary degrees include author and MIT Professor Junot Diaz, retired Stanford University bacteriologist Stanley Falkow, Tougaloo College President Beverly Wade Hogan, medical doctor and Robert Wood Johnson Foundation President Risa Lavizzo-Mourey, and Miami Dade College President Eduardo Padron.
