George Michael suffered minor injuries in a car crash Thursday night.
The incident occurred at the crowded M1 motorway near St. Albans, Hertfordshire, England. A rep issued a statement Friday that said the 49-year-old singer was a passanger of a Range Rover that got into a traffic accident and was hospitalized for “superficial cuts and bruises,” adding that George Michael was “fine.”
The spokesperson added: “No third party was involved. We have no further comment at this time.”
The BBC talked to the ambulance spokesman, who said a man in his ’40s had suffered a head injury and had to be airlifted to a nearby hospital for further care.
The singer has been in a car-related accident before. He spent a month in jail back in 2010 for getting himself into a car crash while under the influence of drugs and possessing cannabis.
