Monday will be Whitney Houston’s first death anniversary and her life will be honored during the Clive Davis and the Recording Academy’s annual pre-Grammy party.
Although Clive Davis originally didn’t announce the tribute in honor of Whitney Houston for this year’s party, he told E! News that Houston’s family will be there as well. He adds, “She was this generation’s greatest, greatest singing talent. So we’ll do something over the course of the evening Saturday night to show that. It’s very much with me and she’ll be with me.”
Whitney’s half-sister Pat Houston told the New York Daily News that she will be attending with Whitney’s brother Gary. She said: “We’re going in support of Clive to show our appreciation of him as he honors Whitney.”
Whitney’s mom Cissy got the invitation as well, but wasn’t fond of the idea of partying on the day her daughter passed away. She told Access Hollywood, “I got an invitation to the party, which is the most obscene thing. I don’t know why they would want me to come to the party in which she died, you know? Unheard of.”
