Three-time Indianapolis 500 winner Dario Franchitti and his wife Ashley Judd are set to divorce after 11 years of marriage.
The couple issued a short statement to People confirming their breakup. The statement read: “We have mutually decided to end our marriage. We’ll always be family and continue to cherish our relationship based on the special love, integrity, and respect we have always enjoyed.”
It seems like Ashley and Dario really have a mutual respect, as just after the news, Judd tweeted her soon-to-be-husband with the message “Family forever. @dariofranchitti,” with Franchitti later responding: “@ashleyjudd family forever.”
The 44-year-old Judd and 39-year-old Franchitti were set up by friends at a wedding reception back in 1999. They married in December 2001 at a castle located in Dario’s home country Scotland. The couple did not have any children together.
