Rumors that Destiny’s Child will be reuniting for Beyoncé’s Super Bowl half-time performance has been laid to rest, as Michelle Williams says the report is false.
When news broke that Beyonce will be performing at the Super Bowl this year, it was reported a few days later that Williams and Kelly Rowland would be joining their former bandmate Beyoncé on stage during the show to perform a medley of their hits.
None of the three former Destiny’s Child members have addressed the rumor until now. When interviewed by WRUG Radio and asked about the Super Bowl reunion, Williams replied: “That’s not confirmed. It is rumored. I’m gonna be in the musical Fela! I hate to disappoint the people and tell them that it’s not true.”
However, Destiny’s Child fans will still be in it for a treat. Williams revealed that the trio recently recorded a song “with each other before the holidays” and shared that there’s still hope for the group to get back together “one day” since they’ve “talked about it” before.
The Super Bowl XLVII will air on February 3, Sunday, on Sky Sports 2 and BBC ONE.
