Jurassic Park fans are in for a treat… the upcoming 4th installment will be coming to theaters earlier than expected. Universal Pictures has announced the release date of Jurassic Park 4.
The film, which will be shot in 3D, is scheduled to hit theaters on June 13, 2014, Universal Pictures announced earlier today.
News of the 4th installment came when Steven Spielberg attended Comic-Con in 2011, confirming that the fourth film in his dinosaur saga has been given a green light. At that time, Spielberg was busy working postproduction with War Horse, followed by “Lincoln.”
The movie adaptation of Daniel H. Wilson’s Robopocalypse was next in line, but after DreamWorks pulled the plug on Robopocalypse due to script and budget concerns, Spielberg will now be working on Jurassic Park 4 ahead of schedule, with the award-winning director promising the much-anticipated dinosaur flick to be “epic.”
