Anna Faris joins CBS for Chuck Lorre’s new sitcom “Mom”

“The House Bunny” star Anna Faris is set to join CBS and star on Chuck Lorre’s upcoming primetime sitcom “Mom” next fall.

“Mom,” which is a multi-camera comedy in development for CBS, will follow a sober single mom (to be played by Anna Faris) who tries to turn her life around in the Napa Valley.

Mom will be produced by Chuck Lorre. He also co-penned the upcoming sitcom with “Two and a Half Men” screenwriters Eddie Gorodetsky and Gemma Baker.

If CBS renews “Two and a Half Men” for an 11th season and gives “Mom” a green light, the new show would be the fourth show Lorre will have on air next fall, joining the recently-renewed “The Big Bang Theory,” and “Mike & Molly.”
