Since going off the air in late August for treatment of a rare blood disease and undergoing a bone marrow transplant, Good Morning America co-host Robin Roberts is set to go back to her job next year.
Despite reports that Roberts will be joining the newscasters of GMA back in February, the Orlando Sentinel announced that Robin will be returning sometime in mid-2013 around May or June.
A spokesman for ABC said in a statement: “We have never put a timetable on Robin’s return to the show. We have always said that the decision will be made by her doctors when they feel it is the right time.”
Doctors of Roberts have said that she’s been doing well and has been “making great steady progress.” On December 10, she welcomed some of the GMA crew to her home for a Christmas celebration, footage of which was broadcasted last week on the show. Last Friday, she was well enough to attend the wedding of GMA weatherman Sam Champion and his partner Rubem Robierb.
