Rick Ross Cancels North Carolina Shows Amid Gang Threats

Rick Ross has canceled his shows in North Carolina after the Gangster Disciples continued to threat the rapper.

Billboard reports that the rapper and Maybach Music Group honcho has been the target of YouTube videos posted by self-described “Maybach killers” Gangster Disciples, who has warned Ross to consider his plans to perform in the state.

Although the news of the threat has been public, Ross blamed the cancelation on his promoters, posting a message on his Twitter, “North Carolina I wuz so excited to perform tomorro wit #MMG Promoters cancelled show but I’ll be Back ASAP. #luv”

Rick Ross and the Gangster Disciples have quite a past. Ross mentioned the gang’s imprisoned leader Larry Hoover in his song “Blowing Money Fast,” with the lyrics “I think I’m Big Meech, Larry Hoover, whipping work, hallelujah, one nation under God, real n—-s getting money from the f–king start.” The Gangster Disciples, who originated in the South Side of Chicago, uses a six-pointed star as their logo, similar to Ross’ album art that features his face in the middle of the Star of David.
