Ryan Murphy confirms ‘American Horror Story’ season two title

FX has revealed the title of American Horror Story’s second season.

The second season of the series was entitled ‘Asylum’, in reference to its mental institution setting and the season’s theme of “sanity and… real-life horrors”.

The creator of the show, Ryan Murphy said in a statement, “We picked ‘Asylum’ because it not only describes the setting – an insane asylum run by Jessica Lange’s character which was formerly a tuberculosis ward – but also signifies a place of haven for the unloved and the unwanted.”

“This year’s theme is about sanity and tackling real-life horrors.”

Other stars to appear on the show are Adam Levine, Chloe Sevigny, Zachary Quinto, Joseph Fiennes and Mark Consuelos.
