Scarlett Johansson: ‘The Avengers co-star beat the crap out of me’

Scarlett Johansson has said that the stunt training for The Avengers was hard.

The actress confessed that one of her co-stars beat her up during rehearsals for a fight scene featured in the film.

“All I can say is that I had to fight someone else in this film, and they beat the crap out of me in stunt rehearsals,” Johansson told MTV News. “I have to say I could not believe it.

“I was like, ‘Can you hold it back, OK? You know, I’m trying to work it out here. I’ve got smaller muscles than you’. I was dragged across the [floor]. When we finally finished [filming] that scene I was just happy to be alive.”

The Lost in Translation star recently described her split from Ryan Reynolds as “horrible”.

The Avengers opens in cinemas on May 4.

    Johansson really doesn’t impress me at all. If she just used her real name and developed her characters I could handle her. However, when her publicists tell the world that she is “one of the most glamorous women in the world”, then I see her in a different light; not as a person but as another Hollywood groupie seeking after fame and fortune that is way beyond reasonable pay for her work. First, to claim that she’s more glamorous than the rest of the world’s women is not only arrogant, but insulting to other women. The fact is, I personally know many women who make Johansson look like something less than average, and I’m only an average guy! Johansson has small beaty eyes, a strange shapped mouth and a slightly uneven chin. The fact is, without the thousands of dollars she invests in makeup, hair styling and wardrobe to cover over her reality, it would become painfully obvious that she somewhat less than a very plain Jane. She’s kind of like a barn that just happens to take paint well… sort of. In any event, one would never look at another human being in such a critical light… unless she, through her publicist, start putting down other women by telling them that she is “one of the most glamorous women in the world.” And why? Angain, there’s usually only a couple of ways to make the kind of money she makes for the true value of work she does. The first is to be a king pin in a drug cartel. The second is to know someone in Hollywood, and when you’re in Hollywood, being Jewish doesn’t seem to hurt either. In fact, I’ve often wondered if half the people there feigned conversion just to get their foot in the door.
