Sofia Vergara: ‘Saturday Night Live is an American tradition’

Sofia Vergara has said that hosting Saturday Night Live for the first time is a major honour.

The actress promoted her sketch comedy debut on Thursday (April 5) on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, where was she asked by Jimmy Fallon if she was familiar with SNL when she grew up in Colombia.

“I think it’s like an institution – Saturday Night Live. It’s like one of those shows that is like an American tradition. And, we have cable in South America,” she joked to Fallon.

Fallon went on to say that he’d spoken with two SNL staffers who said they had “never seen a prettier person” than Vergara.

“Who?” the Modern Family star answered playfully, but Fallon remained mum on his sources.

Saturday Night Live airs at 11.30/10.30c on NBC.
