Bobbi Kristina Brown Lands a Role on Tyler Perry’s sitcom

Last month, Whitney Houston’s daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown sat down with Oprah Winfrey and hinted at her desire to join the entertainment industry whether through singing, dancing or acting. Now, her long-time family friend Tyler Perry has announced that he will be giving the young girl a role on his latest sitcom.

E!News reports that a rep for the Houston family confirms that Bobbi Kristina Brown is working with the prolific TV and film producer on the upcoming TBS sitcom “For Better or Worse.” Bobbi Kristina will be playing the daughter of one of the stylists at the salon run by Tasha Smith’s Angela.

“For Better or Worse” is based on Perry’s 2007 movie “Why Did I Get Married?” and 2010 film “Why Did I Get Married Too?”

Bobbi Kristina’s exposure to the industry is limited to interviews she’s done after her mom’s death, and appearances on her dad’s 2005 reality TV show “Being Bobby Brown.”

Tyler Perry, who reportedly lent his private jet to fly Whitney’s remains from California to New Jersey for her Newark funeral, spoke at the service, saying, “There are two constants that I know about Whitney Houston. There was a grace that carried her from heaven down through Miss Cissy Houston, a grace that brought her up through singing…The same grace led her all the way to the top of the charts…The other thing I know for sure, more important than anything she’s done in her life, Whitney Houston loved the Lord.”

TBS has ordered the first 35 episodes of Tyler Perry’s sitcom. It will premiere in July.
