Carrie Underwood posted a video message to announce that her next single “Good Girl,” the first song from her forthcoming fourth yet-to-be-titled album, will be hitting airwaves on February 23.
In a special message to her fans, the award-winning country singer confirmed the song title, saying it will “blow you guys away.” Co-written by Underwood, Ashley Gorley and Chris DeStefano, Carrie shares that the track “kicks butt!.” She added, “It’s upbeat, it’s fun, you stomp your feet, and you can dance to it. It’s got this really rockin’ verse, and this really rockin’ country chorus. It’s just a really cool song.”
The former “American Idol” winner continued to work with producer Mark Bright for country songs with a twist. Yes, Carrie’s upcoming album will feature darker material than her past songs. As Carrie explained further to Entertainment Weekly, “I have always been a fan of songs that have attitude, but the ones I’m talking about have a darker storyline. It seemed to be what the album wanted, so I decided to roll with it.”
Carrie’s 2009 album “Play On” sold 2.1 million copies. Next up for Underwood is a performance at the 2012 CMA Music Festival to be held from June 7-10 in Nashvile.
