Kristen Stewart has said that she was failed by her teachers.
The Twilight star said that she struggled to balance her schoolwork and acting career, claiming that her teachers did not help her keep up her homework while she was away shooting films.
Stewart told GQ Magazine, “School became genuinely uncomfortable.”
“I was feeling a little self-conscious about the acting thing with my peers, but also my teachers became a problem. They didn’t want to do the extra work or put packages together so I could keep up while away.”
She continued: “They failed me. My teachers failed me. Not one, but all of them.”
The 21-year-old also said that that she feels “ashamed” about abandoning school for a career in Hollywood.
She confessed, “I’m always slightly ashamed in a way, about what I do.”
“I’m slightly embarrassed as I had such serious ambitions when I was younger – I just never imagined that I would ever have a reason not go to school. But then this happened.”
Stewart has described herself as a tomboy, claiming that she has only recently begun to embrace her feminine side and feel like a proper woman.
