Anne Hathaway has confessed that she would still love to appear in an episode of Glee.
The actress was first linked to a role in the show in January but the programme’s executive producers later revealed that the cameo had been delayed.
The show’s producer Ian Brennan told Digital Spy in June that some guest star rumours get out of hand, suggesting that Hathaway may not be on the show after all.
However, Hathaway has now told PopSugar that she would still love to appear in the series.
“I’m planning on it,” she said. “I don’t know if they’re planning on it.”
She revealed that a cameo was first suggested when she saw the cast and crew of Glee at the Golden Globes.
She said, “I’ve never had a Hollywood moment like the Glee moment.”
“I’m at the Golden Globes and I’m on my way to the restroom because my category is coming up, and Ryan Murphy, the creator [of Glee], he’s about to win and I go past.
“I was just, like, shy walking past the Glee table, like, ‘I just want to say I love you’. And Ryan Murphy goes, ‘Anne Hathaway, come on Glee’, and I go, ‘Yes!’ And he goes, ‘Fab, I’ll call you’ and I said, ‘OK’ and I went to the bathroom.
“Then they won and he went back to the press room and said, ‘So, Anne Hathaway’s going to be on the show’ and that became a news moment. And I never heard from him again!”
The One Day star added: “Ryan Murphy, I’m calling you out. I want to be on Glee. I got my songs all ready to go. You know I’m a very open, uncloseted theatre nerd!”
Glee will return for its third season on September 20 on Fox.
