Justin Timberlake has said that he hopes to avoid being typecast as an actor.
Timberlake revealed that he has no desire to settle into a particular movie genre, saying that he prefers to be an “across the board” entertainer.
Timberlake told the New York Times, “I don’t think in genres.”
“Early on especially, I turned down a lot of scripts that were targeted to a demographic I already had. It’s about being patient, and having something in the back of your mind about not getting pigeonholed.”
The Social Network star added that he does not want to choose what kind of actor he wants to be.
“I don’t want to make that decision,” Timberlake said, admitting that he prefers to be able to play a number of different roles.
