Jim Carrey ‘wanted to be a veterinarian’


Actor Jim Carrey has revealed that acting was not his only career choice.

The I Love You Phillip Morris star spoke to OK about his upcoming movie Mr. Popper’s Penquins and admitted that he has always been ond of animalds.

Carrey said, “I wanted to be a veterinarian for about a week of my life when I was a kid.” He adds, “But I found out about the whole euthanasia thing and I said, ‘I can’t commit to that, sorry!'”

The 49-year-old funnyman plays the eponymous Mr. Popper in the movie based on the popular children’s book by Richard and Florence Atwater.

In May, the actor said that working with live penguins for the film was “magical”.

Carrey was recently named the ‘Funniest M.F.’ at the 2011 Spike TV Guys’ Choice Awards.

Mr. Popper’s Penquins is set to premiere in cenemas in the US on June 17 and the UK on August 5.
