Rob Lowe not replacing Sheen on “Two and a Half Men”

“Parks and Recreation” executive producer Micahel Schur shot down the rumors that Rob Lowe will leave the comedy show to replace Charlie Sheen on “Two and A Half Men.”

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Schur said Lowe, who plays Chris Traeger on NBC’s comedy show, has a multi-year contract that prevents him from taking a gig on “Two and a Half Men.” He also said that the rumor was just that: a rumor, and totally unfounded.

“The Internet lit a match and set itself on fire.”

In an interview on Wednesday, Sheen said that he’d talked to Lowe, who joined “Parks and Recreation” this season, and endorsed him as a replacement.

Other celebrities that have surfaced as a possible replacement for the troubled actor were John Stamos and Jerry O’Connell.
